Every company’s IT environment is different, but the challenges are often the same: A lack of visibility into assets. Complex cooperation between teams. A gap between what IT assumes and what users actually need.
ALVAO Inspiration Day creates space for people who manage IT services and assets every day to share how their IT teams really work—in practice, not theory.
This year’s event featured nine presentations and a series of hands‑on workshops. We heard stories from pharmacy chains, emergency services, retail, and fast‑growing holding companies.
Real stories from practice: What did we hear?
The day opened with a compelling session from pharmaceutical wholesaler PHOENIX. Lukáš Fuxa and Jaroslav Drga showed how they track and manage IT assets across their headquarters and more than 430 BENU pharmacies. One concrete example stood out: employee offboarding, which now takes only a fraction of the original time thanks to ALVAO. They also demonstrated integration with Zabbix for automated incident handling.
Jaro Tomik from CDW spoke about the Zero Ticket concept and why SLA alone is not enough. What matters more is treating the user as a customer and tracking XLA metrics—what users actually experience, not just what can be measured in a ticket.

David Billouz, a value stream management expert, explained the difference between cooperation and true collaboration. It’s not about each department stating its own needs. It’s about looking at a service end to end. ITIL 5 and value stream thinking are not abstract theories—they are practical tools that help explain, for example, why HR needs time to deliver data to IT and how to address that without frustration.
Prague City Tourism was represented by Petr Soukup, who showed how Service Desk and Asset Management support IT operations across Prague’s towers. His approach is refreshingly direct: if a task is visible, it can’t be ignored.
Pavel Slezák and Petr Kugler from Notino shared their experience of relocating their entire headquarters from one Brno “skyscraper” to an even larger one. Simple on paper, a logistical challenge in reality. Thanks to accurate asset records in ALVAO, nothing was lost and everything was ready on time.
The Operations Center of the Emergency Medical Service of the Slovak Republic was represented by Ivan Benedikovič. In an environment where minutes can save lives, IT must be dependable. Ivan showed how system integrations speed up incident resolution and how ALVAO helps track and maintain AED devices—the ones that truly save lives.
Petr Kraus from SPORTISIMO added a retail perspective, demonstrating a mature IT approach in a demanding environment. SPORTISIMO uses ALVAO as an ESM solution across the entire company, including active use of AI. It was a clear example of how far you can go with ALVAO when there’s a systematic approach behind it.
The presentation block closed with CE INDUSTRIES. Luboš Vavřina described building IT from scratch in a large, fast‑changing holding company. No compromises, clear rules, and step‑by‑step visibility where none existed before.
Workshops and what’s new in ALVAO
Alongside the presentations, practical workshops ran throughout the day. ALVAO developers and consultants demonstrated advanced scenarios and gave participants space to ask specific, real‑world questions.

Why it matters
The entire day was defined by openness.
People shared what doesn’t work—and what does. Discussions didn’t stop after the presentations; they continued over coffee and in the hallways.
That’s exactly what ALVAO Inspiration Day delivers every year: a space to talk openly about real challenges and real solutions.
Recordings of all presentations will be available on our website soon.
We’re already looking forward to the next edition.
