At ALVAO, accessibility is not an afterthought; it's an integral part of our product design and delivery process. We believe that everyone, regardless of ability, should be able to use our products without barriers. Our commitment is to continually improve accessibility across all our products, guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
Accessibility is an ongoing journey, and while many features of our products already meet accessibility standards, we recognize there are areas where improvements are still needed. We are actively addressing these gaps and regularly releasing updates to move closer to a universally inclusive experience.
Conformance status
We design and develop in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which set internationally recognized standards for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. WCAG includes three levels of conformance: Level A (basic accessibility), Level AA (addresses the most common barriers), and Level AAA (the highest level).
We have recently achieved our objective of becoming conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This level balances strong accessibility requirements with practical implementation, ensuring that our products are both usable and reliable for the widest possible audience.
ALVAO products
- Our products are designed with WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements in mind.
- Accessibility is built into our process from the earliest design stages through development and release.
- We regularly test and validate our applications against accessibility standards.
- Improvements are continuous - we update features and workflows as accessibility standards change and as we receive valuable feedback from our users.
Known limitations and planned improvements
We want to be transparent about the current limitations of our products and what we’re doing to improve them.
-
Keyboard navigation: Currently, certain areas of products have limited support for keyboard-only navigation. We understand this can create challenges for users who rely on keyboards or assistive technologies. Our team is actively working on updates to deliver full support for keyboard-only navigation.
How we assess accessibility
For us, accessibility isn’t just compliance; it’s about user experience. To ensure our products are usable by everyone, our product design and QA teams use several approaches:
- Manual testing with assistive technologies (such as screen readers and keyboard navigation tools).
- User experience research with a diverse range of users to understand real-world challenges and needs.
- Ongoing monitoring to make sure updates and new features meet accessibility requirements before release.
