What is Microsoft Multidomain Authentication?

The Microsoft Multidomain Authentication allows users from multiple Microsoft Entra ID tenants - such as different companies or business units to access a single ALVAO instance. Whether you're using ALVAO Service Desk or Asset Management, the limitation of a single-tenant setup is removed and makes it possible for people across organizations to log in with their existing Entra ID credentials. For teams that need to collaborate across company or manage services centrally for multiple subsidiaries, this functionality simplifies access without compromising security or requiring separate environments.

External users can log into ALVAO WebApp using their organization’s credentials via Entra ID Multidomain Authentication. This streamlines access for partners, subsidiaries, or external collaborators without needing separate accounts.

With Multidomain Authentication, ALVAO enables direct access to approved users from any allowed tenant. This is especially valuable if your company works with multiple subsidiaries, external partners, or manages several Microsoft Entra ID tenants - whether due to acquisitions, separate business units, or organizational structure.

Administrators can define a list of trusted tenants in ALVAO, ensuring that only authorized organizations can connect while maintaining full control over access. This makes cross-tenant collaboration more natural, and helps IT keep a clean and maintainable access structure.
